Privacy Policy
Studio Uploader ("the tool") is a personal, single-user application operated by Acid Alchamy ("the owner", acidalchamy.com). Its only purpose is to upload the owner's own videos to the owner's own YouTube channel and to maintain their metadata. This policy explains what the tool accesses, what it keeps, and what it never does.
1. Who uses the tool
Only the owner. The tool has no sign-up, no accounts for other people, no public interface and no way for anyone other than the owner to connect a Google Account. Because there are no other users, the tool collects no personal information from anyone.
2. YouTube API Services
Studio Uploader uses YouTube API Services. By using it, the owner agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
The tool authenticates with the owner's Google Account through OAuth 2.0 and requests one scope, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube ("Manage your YouTube account"). With that authorisation it calls the YouTube Data API v3 to:
- upload a video the owner has approved and read back its processing and privacy status;
- set that video's title, description, tags, category, language and thumbnail;
- add the video to one of the owner's playlists, creating the playlist if needed;
- confirm which channel is signed in.
The tool does not read, collect or process any data about YouTube users other than the owner. It does not read comments, subscribers, analytics, watch history or any other person's channel.
3. What is stored, and where
- OAuth tokens. The refresh token and short-lived access token issued by Google are stored in a file on a single computer owned and controlled by the owner (a Mac mini in the owner's home), readable only by the owner's user account. They are transmitted only to Google's OAuth and YouTube API endpoints, never to any other server or third party.
- Upload records. For each upload the tool keeps, on that same computer, the YouTube video ID it received and the metadata it sent, so that a retried upload does not create a duplicate. This is the owner's own data about the owner's own videos.
- Nothing else. The tool keeps no logs of anyone else's activity, sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no third-party trackers on this website or anywhere else.
4. Sharing and sale of data
None. No data obtained through YouTube API Services is shared with, sold to, or made available to any third party, advertiser, data broker or affiliate. No data is used for advertising, profiling, credit assessment or any purpose other than publishing the owner's own videos.
5. Retention and deletion
- Stored authorisation tokens can be deleted at any time by removing the token file from the owner's computer; the tool provides a command that does this and rotates tokens.
- Authorisation can also be revoked at Google, which immediately invalidates the stored tokens: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions (also reachable via Google security settings).
- Upload records are kept only as long as they are useful for avoiding duplicate uploads and are deleted with the tool's routine clean-up.
- Metadata written to YouTube (titles, descriptions, thumbnails, playlists) lives in the owner's YouTube channel under YouTube's own controls and can be edited or removed in YouTube Studio at any time.
6. Security
The computer that runs the tool is reachable only over a private network. Token files are created with owner-only permissions. Nothing is uploaded to YouTube without an explicit approval by the owner on a private review page.
7. This website
studio.acidalchamy.com serves only these static pages. It sets no cookies, loads no scripts, and collects no visitor information beyond the ordinary connection logs kept briefly by its hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security and abuse prevention.
8. Changes
If the tool ever gains other users or changes what it accesses, this policy will be updated first and the effective date above will change.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy go to the owner via acidalchamy.com. The contact email registered on the Google Cloud project for this OAuth client is the same address used for the owner's YouTube channel.
